I have a subfolder on one of my sites called race  I want to write a rule so that anything going to this folder of files or subfolders within is forwarded to another URL.  I was thinking something like this:

RewriteRule /race             http://www.mydomain.com/  [I,L]
RewriteRule /race/            http://www.mydomain.com/  [I,L]
RewriteRule /race/([0-9A-Za-z_.]+) http://www.mydomain.com/$1  [I,L]
RewriteRule /race/([0-9A-Za-z_.]+)/ http://www.mydomain.com/$1  [I,L]

However, this doesn't seem to work.  Can anyone enlighten me?  Your help is greatly appreciated!!
