Where can I find a list on how to use User Agent Whitelisting?

What should I add to the whitelist if I want to allow flashplayer (any version) to access content?

A remote server hosts a flash website that loads pictures from the server with hotlinkblocker installed on it.. Is it possible to allow the pictures only to be loaded if the flashfiles are hosted on this known remote domain?

You need a referrer white listing but not a User Agent white listing. What protection method you are using? Show your configuration, protected files URL and friednly web site URL.

The files are being hosted at bozzaccount.nl and the friendly url is bozzini.nl

partypassion.net steals my content and I want them to be blocked

I only have limited access to the configuration since i have to access it via my control panel (Helm)..

I have 2 options..

  • Black/White Lists
  • Protected Folders

I added *partypassion.net* and *partypassion.nl* (should it be done like that, or are the wildcards unnecessary, I thought www.partypassion.nl and partypassion.nl might be seen as different referrers) to the blacklist but this doesn't help.. I thought this should already be enough?

bozzini.nl is on the whitelist..
I managed to protect my content after adding a protected folder, but this also blocks bozzini.nl.. Other sites that are whitelisted work fine when linking to an image from an html page but the flash, hosted at bozzini.nl, fails to load any data from bozzaccount.nl

This is bacause flash request is done in two stages and you cannot use referrer protection with it. You will need to use REDIRECT protection type for this content to allow it to work. I don't understand how did they implemented configuration, but HotlinkBlocker offer a text file configuration format, do you have access to this text file?

I don't have access to the text file..

Only thing I see is the controlpanel interface..

Black/White Lists
    Referrers
       Black List (textfield)
       White List (textfield)
    User Agents
       Black List (textfield)
       White List (textfield)

Protected Folders
    Protection Type (dropdown menu)
        Link
        Referrer
        Redirect
    Proteced Folder Path (textfield)
    Redirect to Failure URL (textfield)

I can't change that many options so is it possible to make it work with the options listed above?

thanks for you help!

Try to change Protection Type to the Redirect.

Then try another solution. Try to change protection type back to the referer and allow empty referer by adding the following pattern to the referer white list: @^$
Your configuration is too complex because flash player does not send referer information and you cannot change links within. If this last solution will not help you then probably what you ask cannot be done with HotlinkBlocker.
