I have a domain name pointing to the website and when I enter www.DomainName.co.uk it goes to the website, but when I put DomainName.co.uk I get a login box as if it need authenticating.

I have tried

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} (on)?
RewriteCond %{HTTP:Host} ^(?!www\.)(.+)$ [NC,NS]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} (.+)
RewriteRule .? http(?%1s)://www.%2%3 [R=301,L,NS]

but getting no joy.

But do you need http or httpS redirect?

Try using simple:

Code:
RewriteCond %{HTTP:Host} ^(?!www\.)(.+)$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} (.+)
RewriteRule .? http://www.%1%2 [NC,R=301,L]
