Installation of HeliconZoo_0260_x86.msi fails on 2008R2

13 Sep 2012, 08:48

Hi,

I've just deployed our app to a new Azure hosted service, and HeliconZoo no longer installs via the Web Platform Installer:

Successfully loaded metadata from feed http://www.helicontech.com/zoo/feed/

The following products are not available on this machine or already installed: HeliconZooModule
ERROR ( message:Unknown config section "system.webServer/heliconZooServer". Replace with ? for help. )

These are new server instances, so HeliconZoo definitely isn't already installed. I can see from the feed that a new version of the MSI was published yesterday - is there somewhere I can download the previous MSI version, so that we can be sure to always install the same version on each deployment?

Thanks,

Kerin

Can you please provide more information about what you did? Some scripts and logs and explanations would be nice.
As for WebPI you can use WebPICMD /Offline key to create an offline copy of product installation packages and reuse this packages on every instance installation - http://www.iis.net/learn/install/web-pl ... lease_1072

Our install script installed HeliconZoo like this:

%LOCAL_RESOURCE_TMP_DIR%\%WEBPI_DIR%\webpicmdline /Products:HeliconZooModule /Feeds:http://www.helicontech.com/zoo/feed/ /AcceptEula

And after the new version yesterday the output was as above.

I did however just notice that the previous post in this forum referenced HeliconZoo_0249_x86.msi and HeliconZoo_0249_x64.msi, so I've just changed our install script to:

msiexec /i "%~dp0HeliconZoo_0249_x64.msi" /quiet
msiexec /i "%~dp0HeliconZoo_0249_x86.msi" /quiet

An Azure deployment with this is running at the moment, so I should know in a few minutes if this method is successful.

Can you please run the webpicmdline.exe comand with logs enabled, like /Log:<LogPath> and send us resulting logs.

Were you able to have this fixed, pal?

What if you download and try to install newer version of Helicon Zoo Module without Web Platform Installer here:
http://www.helicontech.com/zoo/media/pa ... 70_x64.msi
http://www.helicontech.com/zoo/media/pa ... 70_x86.msi
This may help to determine whether error is with WebPI or with Helicon Zoo installation.
