Hello.

Sorry for the delay.
While Helicon Ape can actually be enabled for each website separately, ISAPI_Rewrite does not offer such flexibility, so you will not be able to gradually move from ISAPI_Rewrite to Ape site-by-site. And yes, it is not recommended to have both enabled on a website as they may conflict. So you can actually install Ape without enabling it globally first (there is a switch on one screen during installation), then uninstall ISAPI_Rewrite and quickly enable Ape globally using Helicon Ape Manager (right click on top "IIS" node). Short downtime is still needed though.

Hello.

Helicon Ape is an IIS .NET module, so it requires IIS application pool to be in "integrated" mode (not classic ASP mode). Please make sure IIS App Pool is set to the integrated mode and ASP.NET Trust Level is set to Full Trust.
Also Make sure all your .htaccess files include "RewriteEngine On" directive at the top as Ape requires it.
Then try to apply some simple rules, like redirecting one page into another to test if Ape works at all.
