Helicon Ape rewrites stopped working on production server
Okay, so yesterday after 17.30 I noticed all rewrite rules stopped working on our production server.
Naturally this knocked down all the PHP sites and they have been down now for 18 hrs or so.
I am trying to get the host to look at the server however they do not know much about helicon.
I have tested PHP itself and it is still running, however I can see the rewrites are not working.
What would cause such an effect on the server first of all (I am thinking metabase changes) and what is the best way for me to ensure rewrites will continue to work?
Shall I just reinstall helicon ape?
rhanks

Please check error.log in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Helicon\Ape\"
Check registration info.
Check iis settings, that HeliconApe module is present and enabled for this site.
If doesn't help please create ticket on the helpdesk https://www.helicontech.com/support/
for future investigation

Huah ok
checked registration info - licence file is in there but not sure if there is an expiry date or if its an unlimited time licence?
error.log - nothing recent in it, so I tried enabling error debug logging in httpd.conf, when trying to save this file it says "error saving file", as if it is locked by another process?
How do i check if ape is enabled and present? I can see the ape icon under each site...
I have noticed the last error messages in error.log from yesterday -
Process cannot access the file as it is being used by another process - for all the .htaccess files sitting in web roots...

You can use Process Explorer form Microsoft to find who locked httpd.conf file, it may be root of the issue
