301 redirect with Expires header

03 Nov 2014, 15:59

Hello, I have a series of rewrite directives that result in a 301 redirect. I'm also behind a full application CDN. Is there a way to issue these 301's with an Expires header so that the CDN can cache those instead of hitting my server on each request?

Hello,

It doesn't seem to be possible to cache the redirects. You can set the header but it won't make sense.
Moreover, isn't it CDN's core idea to serve customers quicker by design? I mean, why would you want to speed up the CDN?
