Does the free trial and manual installation work or is the trail only via the installer?

I tried the manual installation and could not get it to work, so that was my first question, thank you.

Yes, manual installation should also include trial. Please follow troubleshooting section from documentation.

Thanks for the reply.

I created a directory one level above my domains webroot and placed the LinkFreeze.dll and the LinkFreeze.ini within that folder, gave read permissions to everyone. I added the ISAPI filter linkfreeze and pointed it to the dll in that folder, the priority of the filter remained *unknown* and the filter was not enabled (button greyed out).

My ini file is below;

Code:

#################################################
# LinkFreeze Configuration file

#################################################
# Registration information

RegistrationName=
RegistrationCode=

##################################################
# Filter notification order. Possible values: MEDIUM, HIGH, LOW
NotifyOrder = MEDIUM

##################################################
# Set to True to log modified URLs, otherwice log original (dynamic) URL format
LogRewrite = False

##################################################
# Examples of configuration records

# 1. Apply to the whole site
#    Replace ?, & and = by dashes, replace .asp file extension with .htm
#    and move file extension to the end of file
/        ---    .asp    [MoveExt,AbsLinks]

# 2. Use regular expression
#    Replace ?, & and = by dashes.
#    Replace .cfm file extension with .htm
#@.*        ---    .cfm

Any pointers would be appreciated, thank you.

Please read application and system logs to see possible reason why the filter was not loaded. Also make sure there are no Deny permission records on this folder.

The EM just states the service could not be loaded but then again I have not installed the message dll or made the registry changes.

Does the 32bit version run on 64bit machines, could that be the issue?

I see there is no trial with the 64bit version hence the reason I did not try it.

Sorry, LinkFreeze is not available in 64-bit version yet. We will create 64-bit version in a month or so.

Never mind this was a permission issue, I double checked but must have missed something.
