You can try to install LinkFreeze on NT4 machine using manual installation package. INstallation instructions can be found in the documentation.

I completed the manual installation on NT4 and it does not seem to work (the site is www.mavensearch.com)

config file below

#################################################
# LinkFreeze Configuration file

RegistrationName=
RegistrationCode=

NotifyOrder = HIGH

# Set to True to log modified URLs, otherwice log original (dynamic) URL format
LogRewrite = False

##################################################
/  --- .asp [MoveExt]

and log file

###########################
#Begin loading congig file:
# 5/22/07 1:24:29 AM
C:\Program Files\LinkFreeze\LinkFreeze.ini

I can confirm that the ASAPI filter is enabled in IIS Service Manager.

The NT Event log is not showing any errors.

regards

M

I have made some progress.  The links are now being converted correctly.  However when I click on the modified link, I am getting a 404 error message (page not found).

Another example.  With  LinkFreeze enabled and I go www.mavensearch.com/travel/ the default page is index.asp but I also get a 404 error message.  When I disable LinkFreeze, everything works fine.

Any ideas?

I am sorry but it seems like current version of LinkFreeze will not run on NT4. We have modified request processing sequence to support file checking and this is incompatible with IIS 4. I will remove NT4 support note from the documentation with the next build of LinkFreeze. This new provessing sequence cannot be implemented using IIS 4.

I am sorry to hear this.  I do plan to upgrade to W2K or W2003 server in the next 6 months.

In the meantime.....

a) Could I use ISAPI read write instead to achieve the same.  Is it compatible with NT4?

b) Could you send me the last version of LinkFreeze which does support NT4 to try out.  It is possible I can use it in the short term until I make the uprgade.

thanks for responding.

a) Current version of ISAPI_Rewrite should support NT4 but upcoming version 3.0 will not.
b) It is hard to tell now, please try build 63:
