Hi there. I've been using HotlinkBlocker for some time and been very pleased with it.

We've just recently moved servers so that our Web server and File server are on a local network. HotlinkBlocker protects an artwork folder on the file server. Files are streamed across the network to the Web server, and it's IIS on the Web server that serves the files to the user.

Our downloads are maxing out at around 60k/s on a gigabit line. FTP is very fast. But if I create a temporary Web site that doesn't use HotlinkBlocker the speed jumps up to 350k/s (about normal for me). The moment I switch it back on it's down to 60k/s again. Weirdly this is also true of files that *aren't* protected by HlB.

Have you experienced anything like this before?

Cheers,
Steve

Well, we've had to remove it from our server because it genuinely was causing all of our download traffic to be throttled at around 65k/s. The moment I removed it we got back to full speed - 5-10Mb/s.

I'm really disappointed, because it's impossible to run it now, and we were relying on it. We were also fully paid-up customers and no one at Helicon has even replied to my original message.

So I hope technical support has some solution, or otherwise this thread is seen as a warning to anyone else planning on purchasing licenses.

Sorry for delay.

Unfortunately we were unable to reproduce the problem in our testing environment.
Please send your HotlinkBlocker configuration to support@helicontech.com
Also please tell whether you had 100% CPU load with HotlinkBlocker switched on.
And is it possible to see your problem online?
