I am very new to using the rewrite system and frankly just confused.

I need to set up 3-4 dozen specific rules to tell the server:

If you are going to this .html page you need to go to this .cfm page for now on. (we are transferring the static site from one server to another server using CF pages instead.)

My basic understanding is that I need to write the condition first then the redirect and each one needs to be individualized.

so wrongpage.html to correctpage.cfm

Please try this rule:

RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^wrongpage\.html$ correctpage.cfm [NC,R=301,L]
