That should block all images in that folder ie

www.mysite.com/Final/images

But it has no effect whatsoever

Sorry I'm such an idiot, I was on my own site so of course I could see the images. I made a test page at home that hotlinked to the images on the server and they were blocked. as are the ebay users stealing my images :-)
