Directory *secure/
Protection Type REFERER

When I have hotlinkblocker on, the .PDF document hangs
when I am downloading it. If I then hit refresh the
document then loads.

If I turn hotlinkblocker off, the PDF's never hang.

I have test this is all Browser types and the problem
seems to replicated its self.

I have whitelisted my domain *.tsia.com

Please help as this is causing quite a headache.

The REFERER method of HotlinkBlocker cannot be used to protect PDF files. You will need to switch to REDIRECT or LINK protection methods.

REFERER:
Simply checks HTTP Referer header and rejects all
requests to the protected content from unknown sites.
Supports white and black lists based on Referer and User-
Agent values to allow friendly sites requests and protect
against some ugly hacks. This method does not require any
configuration or modification to your site and is a
convenient way to protect image archives.

Right here it says that you can protect image archives.
Why wouldn't you be able to protect a PDF archives as
well.

Very frustrating.

The issue is that

1. for 'Save as' option no Referer is set
2. for tags <object> and <embedded> IE (version 6 for sure) does not set Referer.

Okay,

So I am reading the LINK feature of HOTLINK blocker.

Before I go through and change all my links to
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/FILENAME.PDF, what to prevent a user from
stripping the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/ <---- whatever code that is
generated from the front of the file and getting my .PDF.
