My apologies if this topic has already been discussed or is documented but I couldn't seem to find an answer.

We have been very happy with ISAPI_Rewrite version 2 and are considering upgrading to v3 as part of a site coding overhaul. Are there major benefits in version 3? Is there an end of life support schedule for version 2? Does Helicon Tech recommend that clients upgrade?

Thanks.

The main benefits of ISAPI_Rewrite 3 are:
- 99% Apache mod_rewrite compatible syntax
- supports directory-level configurations using .htaccess files
- supports RewriteMap for rules of similar pattern
- ISAPI_Rewrite manager for easier configs manipulations

Yes, we do recommend to upgrade.
Though we are planning to continue ISAPI_Rewrite2 support in the near future.
