I am planning on installing this on a shared Plan that is running IIS 6.0.

I was wondering if once the initial rule is set up if there is a way to add rules from a file running on the web server.  I am concerned that I will not have access to the IIS manager to create or modify existing rules.

If you are concerned that you won't be able to edit the .htaccess file for your site when it's on shared hosting, that's actually not a
problem. You may replace your .htaccess using FTP access.
