rewrite question

28 Oct 2016, 15:25

I have been using ISAPI_Rewrite for years on my site, but I am looking to change some of my linking structure now.

I have some existing rules to work with my existing linking structure, such as:

/category-name/
/section-name/category-name/
/section-name/keyword-rich-text/post-id/

I would like to add a new rule that could accommodate the following, but would not interfere with the rules for the above url structures:

/keyword-rich-text/post-id/

So "keyword-rich-text" would be the title of the post, and be completely variable (ignored), and then the /post-id/ would pass through into the querystring of the script pagethat I would use to pull the post from the database via the post-id. Note: The post-id is always a number up to 7 digits long.

Could anyone help me with this? Thanks!

I do not know how to create a rule that would accommodate my new desired link structure and would not interfere with the rules I have for my existing url structures that I am also going to keep.

new desired: /keyword-rich-text/post-id/

previous like structure that have rules to support them.
/category-name/
/section-name/category-name/
/section-name/keyword-rich-text/post-id/

Basically, I need a rule for /keyword-rich-text/post-id/ to pass the post-id through to the page name, but that will not interfere with my existing rules for the above link structures.
