Server license not working on second site

10 Nov 2016, 19:24

I have purchased a server license and have been able to get one of my sites working using Helicon Ape. The second site is having an issue. When I login, the login screen keeps coming back. I am using the same IP for the sites, so I don't know if that is making a difference. (using www.site.com and alt.site.com) I am only securing selected folders in each site, using standard .htaccess and .htpasswd files.

Here is my error.log file.
[2016-11-10 15:59:41.042] [mod_core_context:6] (debug) [/index.htm] ConfigFactory.LoadHtaccess: c:\...(location)....\.htaccess
[2016-11-10 15:59:41.089] [authn_file_module:6] (debug) [/index.htm] AuthUserFile: .htpasswd
[2016-11-10 15:59:41.089] [authn_file_module:6] (debug) [/index.htm] user devgroup added
[2016-11-10 15:59:41.089] [auth_basic_module:6] (debug) [/index.htm] Authorization header not found

What does this Authorization header not found error mean?

Hello.

The issue you are experiencing is not bound to your server license (with the incorrect license the authorisation prompt would not appear). Please read through the troubleshooting section of the documentation and send to [email protected] zipped configurations and logs as explained in the documentation: https://www.helicontech.com/ape/doc/troubleshooting.htm
The error may lay in incorrect password or authentication realm, etc.
The "Authorization header not found" has a 'debug' logging level and usually means nothing (except the debug logging level is turned on) because every time user's browser makes the first request it comes to the site without authorisation headers and triggers this message.
