Server 2012 R2 with Plesk Onyx

28 Mar 2017, 01:35

Hi! I've been using Ape for years with my 2003, then 2008 R2 servers, and the time has come to replace the 2008 R2 server now.

I just performed a clean install of 2012 R2 with Plesk Onyx (17) and have been trying all day to get Ape to work.

I've seen several suggestions on the forum to alter rights to the installation folder, remove and reinstall, fiddle with the web.config file and more. None of these work.

The installation guide/docs are written for Server 2003 and Server 2008, so I'm concerned that there might be other steps required in my situation.

Can someone please provide guidance for getting Ape working correctly with Plesk Onyx on Server 2012 R2?

Thanks!

Okay, by using 'disable inheritance', then removing the Deny rules for psaadm and psacli I was able to get a little further.

Now the site loads but rewrite rules are failing with 500 errors. Specifically:

Suggestions?

Hello.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Seems like you've been unlucky, usually Ape installs with no problem, including Windows 2012 R2.
The problem with Plesk is that it usually takes all permissions to the C:\Program Files (x86) folder, where Ape is installed. The solution is to install Ape in some other folder, where Plesk cannot find it.
To provide further assistance I will need to see your configuration. Please use "Zip and Save" function of Helicon Ape Manager and send the resulting zip file to support, supplying it with the description of the problem.
